2020 and it’s going to be Yorkshire playing at some of the best golf courses this region has to offer. Ganton is the standout course ranked #1 in Yorkshire, 9th in England and 77th in The World. And when you play it, you will understand why. We will be staying 250 yards away from the centre of York in a 4* hotel within walking distance of the many pubs and restaurants that this city, 2nd only to London for tourists, has to offer.
Our headline price for 2 members sharing a twin room reflects the quality of golf course that we will be playing at a subsidised member’s rate of £360 that includes all golf, bed and breakfast accommodation for 2 x nights with dinner on the Monday night and a sandwich lunch at Ganton Golf Club. Rooms have been provisionally reserved for Saturday & Tuesday night too, if required.
Itinerary & Golf
Please find attached our DRAFT itinerary for the weekend. Fulford staged 23 consecutive European tour events in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and is famous for Bernard Langer chipping his ball onto the green from a tree. York, or Strensall as it is commonly known, will give us a much-needed respite before we tackle Ganton; the home course of member Alan Swindley, host to the 1949 Ryder Cup and famed for its fearsome bunkering. I am positive you will enjoy all three courses.
We will be staying at the York Hilton Hotel that is right bang smack middle of the city. You can either stay in a single room or share a twin room. I have provisionally held rooms for 36 so an early indication of your attendance will give me time to reserve more. There is a good bar in the hotel that will stay open until late for us.
Valet Car parking is available on site for £25 per night but there is a huge car park outside the hotel that is free from 2000 to 0800.
