Tour to Cornwall – 6th to 9th September 2019
In September 2001 Golf Society Member, John Winter, was inspired to organise a 3-day tour to North-West France. Thanks to an unfailing mix of camaraderie, quality accommodation, excellent cuisine and quality golf courses (including Open Championship venues), annual overseas and UK tours have been well supported by the membership ever since.
Following the success of last year we have decided to once again return to Trevose in Cornwall. We will be staying right in the heart of this golfing region at the excellent facilities that Trevose Golf & Country club has to offer. We have booked a number of lodges that sleep 5 to 6 people. Please check their web site for more details but its excellent quality accommodation and couldn’t be better situated being right next to the first tee at Trevose together with its welcoming club house. This is holiday golf at its very best. Trevose is a short 5 minute taxi drive to the town of Padstow, of Rick Stein fame. It is a charming Cornish working fishing port with a wide selection of good bars and restaurants; you will love it.
This year will be playing Trevose where The European Legends Links Championship will be held this year, and is in England’s Top 100 golf courses. Just outside this list but many say a better track is the delightful course of Perranporth. On the final day we will be playing at Bude Golf Club that is the right side of home. I am positive you will enjoy all three courses.
We will be staying at the Trevose Golf & Country Club in their holiday lodges. Each lodge holds 5 or 6 people. You can either stay in a room for yourself (single) or share a room (twin room). They are good quality (see below) and being right next to the club house and golf course, they really cannot be better located. The club welcomes holiday golfers and the bar will stays open until midnight for us. There is an abundance of FREE CAR PARKING at the hotel
We will be dining at Trevose Golf Club on Saturday night after golf. On Sunday Night I would recommend going into Padstow just to take in the ambience. If you wish to eat at Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant, I would make your booking now.
